For its 32nd edition, the Zurich Marathon Seville 2016 opened its registration in March. This marathon, attended by runners from all over the world, will take place on Sunday the 21st of February 2016 in Seville. The starting gun will go off at 9:00am and the runners will begin a route that is 42’195 kilometers long. The maximum amount of time permitted to complete the event will be 6 hours, so the finish line will be closed to all runners at 15:00.
This race, that is turning into a tourist attraction and contributes to a high index of hotel bookings for these dates, includes locations such as the Plaza de España, The Torre del Oro or the Maestranza.
The fact that 11,500 numbers available for the previous marathon ran out has led the XXXII Zurich Marathon Seville 2016organisers to increase the number to a total of 13,000. The organizers aim is to continue to grow, but continue maintaining the level of quality that has been valued so positively over the past few editions. So much so that the International Athletics Federation (IAAF) awarded the last edition of the marathon the “IAAF Bronze Label”, an official distinctive that positions it as one of the best races in the world and recognizes that it complies with the quality standards required.
One of the key points that has been maintained is that it is one of the most economic marathons at a national and European level, an important claim for the participants. In addition, if the runner eventually decides not to take part and informs in advance, he won’t have to lose his money, thanks to a cancelation insurance that the organizers have included this year as an improvement of the service.
The great Seville running party welcomes participants in all categories with the only requirement being: to be 18 years old or older. With categories from ‘junior’ to ‘veteran’, this marathon includes a special category for disabled participants.
The number of participants and the great acceptance it has had year after year among locals and, especially, non residents in the city, is helping to revitalize tourism in a month of less tourism interest for the capital.
This has favored that many participants have taken advantage of the opening of the registration period to assure their number and also their lodgings for the Seville marathon. A great number of hotels welcome the runners and their fellow travelers, since they make the most of the trip and spend a few days in the capital to enjoy the climate and its tourist attractions.
In this sense, anyone looking to find lodgings in the city for the Seville Marathon should take into account factors such as proximity to the historic centre and consider if they are looking for a hotel with restaurant or spa, where you can relax after the race.
In this way, the gun goes off for the XXXII edition of the Zurich Seville Marathon, an edition that, still some months away, promises to get people talking.
